As Wellvana’s first CTO, he leads engineering, product, security, and IT — the teams that build, run, and protect the technology behind the company’s accountable care performance. He’s been instrumental in growing Wellvana to the largest and top-performing hospital-led enabler in the Medicare Shared Savings Program, with accountable care organization partners covering a quarter of all enabled MSSP lives and generating over $337 million in gross savings for Medicare in 2024.
Before Wellvana, Philips was CTO at Jasper Health and at b.well Connected Health, building digital consumer health platforms with deep roots in FHIR and data interoperability. He co-wrote the CARIN Alliance Application Registration Guide, which helps patients gain control of their own health data, and was named to the 2023 40 Under 40 in Cancer class.
